Ambassador Edward Gabriel
The Honorable Edward M. Gabriel served as United States Ambassador to Morocco from November 1997 to March 2001.  He was actively involved in matters of Russian and European nuclear non-proliferation and safety, and he also served as an advisor to the United States Government on Middle-Eastern policy matters.  He has extensive background in international affairs, having convened multilateral policy forums involving national security, the environment, trade and energy issues.

Currently, Ambassador Gabriel serves as President and CEO of The Gabriel Company LLC, where he advises multinational corporations on international affairs and domestic policy, and provides consultation on Moroccan economic development.  He is also a Visiting Fellow at the Center for Strategic and International Studies.  Ambassador Gabriel is a founding member and President of the American Task Force for Lebanon; a member of the Board of Directors of the Development Advisory Committee of the Arab American Institute, Amid East, the Tangier American Legation Museum, the Casablanca American School, and the American School of Tangier; and a member of the Global Advisory Board of George Washington University.  Previously, he was Vice President in charge of corporate affairs for the Concord Corporation and President and CEO of the Madison Public Affairs Group, Inc.

A native of Olean, NY, Ambassador Gabriel earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Gannon University in 1972.  In 1998, he was honored with the Gannon University Distinguished Alumni Award in Business.

Ambassador Gabriel resides in Washington, DC, with his wife, Kathleen Linehan Gabriel.
