Sanae Benaadim and Amina El Hajjami with Ambassador Madame Patricia Llombart Cussac
On May 9th, the European Union Delegation organized a reception at the EU residence in Rabat. The event was attended by Moroccan partners, members of the government, members of civil society, ambassadors of EU member states, and the diplomatic corps accredited to Morocco. Amina El Hajjami and I had the pleasure of attending the Europe Day celebration.
It was an honor to represent the High Atlas Foundation at the event. During the event, the ambassador gave a speech highlighting the importance of continued collaboration between the EU and Morocco. It was wonderful to see the active support of the EU in the country, and I felt proud to be part of the development initiatives.
On a personal level, I was thrilled to share my experiences and achievements with the attendees. I emphasized the work that we have been doing to empower women in two regions of Morocco. We’ve been conducting literacy classes, and different workshops such as women’s empowerment workshops, participatory approaches, literacy training, and technical training workshops. These efforts have helped over 800 women gain confidence and build their skillset, overcoming the many gender-based barriers that obstruct women’s personal and professional development.
I was delighted to receive positive feedback and support from the audience. It was an honor to have the opportunity to share how we’ve been making efforts to contribute to the development of the country.
Overall, the Europe Day celebration at the EU delegation was a great success. It’s a reminder of how important international cooperation is, and how we can achieve more when we work together towards a common goal. Ndiro Niya… keep up the good work!
